2025-2026 SCHOOL YEAR

These are a few of my favorite things…

This year, Walden Pond is revisiting some o four favorite lessons and favorite animals! Those that made us squirm (think, Animals Nobody Loves!), made us slightly nervous (think, Birds of Prey!) and made us smile with wonder (think, Amazing Migrations!). Join us on a fun-filled, artistic trip down memory lane!!

***ages 3 and older, must be potty-trained***

Animals Nobody Loves, Winter 2026, January 5th to March 6th, 9 weeks

***no class on MLK Day or on President’s  Day***

Join us this winter on a 9-week trip down memory lane! But beware, the animals on our agenda are a bit weird and yucky. We see them–our skin crawls. We smell them–pee yew! Honestly, there are just some animals on this planet that nobody seems to like. Cockroaches, rats, fire ants, hyenas, skunks–the list goes on and on. But maybe, just maybe, they are kind of cool and interesting after all? Join us for Animals Nobody Loves!

Birds of Prey, Spring 2026, March 16th to May 15th, 9 weeks

Our final 9-week trip down memory land is going to be a doozy…Birds of Prey! These fearsome predators are equipped with razor-sharp, curved talons, keen eyesight and a hooked beak made to tear and grab. Examples are secretary birds, falcons, osprey, hawks & eagles, vultures and owls. Stay alert, folks, these birds are formidable hunters!

June 1-5, Workshop I: Yellowstone National Park!

Our nation’s 1st national park, Yellowstone totals more than 2 million acres in 3 different states; with incredible geysers, mud pots, mountain ranges, rivers & wildlife, Yellowstone is a nature-lovers paradise—it even has a growing Rocky Mountain wolf population!

June 8-12, Workshop II: Saguaro National Park!

Towering to 50 feet tall and weighing upwards of 16,000 pounds, the saguaro cactus symbolizes the American Southwest and has been dubbed the “desert monarch;” the Sonoran Desert is also home to Gila monsters, javalinas, roadrunners, kangaroo rats and other animals who have adapted to life in this harsh environment; this will be a HOT time, for sure!

June 15-19, Workshop III: Dry Tortugas National Park!

Accessible by boat or plane only, Dry Tortugas, a bird and marine life sanctuary, is located 70 miles west of Key West and home to Fort Jefferson, sea turtles, pristine coral reefs and sunken pirate ships—this will be a wet and wild workshop!

June 22-26, Workshop IV: Mammoth Cave National Park!

Our nation’s Stinkpot turtles, bats galore, Kentucky cave shrimp, slithering snakes and furry
opossums all make their homes in Kentucky’s Mammoth Cave; discover the 365
wondrous miles of Earth’s longest cave system!

July 20-24, Workshop V: Theodore Roosevelt National Park!

Located in the badlands of North Dakota, this park honors the president who did more for our National Park System than anyone before or since; its spectacular cliffs, gullies and hills also play home to bison, pronghorn, bighorn sheep and wild horses; TR would be proud!

July 27-31, Workshop VI: Grand Canyon National Park!

Our summer tour of National Parks wouldn’t be complete without a visit to the Grand Canyon; this immense gorge hosts a staggering 5 million visitors a year who gaze at the colorful layers of the Colorado Plateau; black bear and porcupines love the Grand Canyon, too!

August 3-7, Workshop IIX: Mesa Verde National Park!

The cliff dwellings of the Ancestral Puebloan people have fascinated and amazed Mesa Verde visitors since this park was established in 1906; with more than 4,800 archaeological sites, Mesa Verde and the Montezuma Valley are also home to American badgers, Western rattlesnakes, jackrabbits and more; let’s “dig in” to this camp!

August 10-12, Workshop IX: Redwood and Sequoia National Parks!

California (tied with Alaska) is home to more National Parks than any other state, and Redwood and Sequoia are simply spectacular; Earth’s tallest (Giant Redwoods) and biggest (Sequoias) trees are awe-inspiring and play home to a vast ecosystem all their own; let’s climb these giants together!

We can’t wait to see you this summer!!
